The 74HC47 is a BCD (Binary-Coded Decimal) to 7-segment decoder/driver IC. It accepts a 4-bit binary input (0-9) and automatically decodes it into segment signals to control a common-anode LED display without needing external programming.

Inputs: 4-bit BCD (Pins 1, 2, 6, 7).Outputs: 7 active-low open-collector outputs (Pins 9-13, 15, 14) directly capable of sinking current for common-anode displays.
Special Functions: Includes Lamp Test (Pin 3) to test all segments, and Ripple Blanking (Pins 4, 5) for suppressing leading or trailing zeroes.
